Redmond began at Selznick International Pictures doing stunning concept art for GONE WITH THE WIND (1939). She also met her life-long partner Harry Redmond Jr. here, who was himself did special effects on films like KING KONG!

Redmond’s greatest cinematic collaboration was with Hitchcock, credited for setting the sinister tone of SHADOW OF A DOUBT (1943), REBECCA (1940), REAR WINDOW (1954) and TO CATCH A THIEF (1955). Her moody storyboards leaving fingerprints on the iconic finished films.
